ABOUT CHATT YOUNG DEMS

The Chattanooga Young Democrats (CYD) is a local chapter of the Tennessee Young Democrats. We aim to increase the visibility, engagement, and political power of students, young professionals, and emerging candidates across Chattanooga and the greater Tennessee Valley. We are committed to building a new generation of Democratic leadership rooted in community, equity, and action.

 

CYD organizes meetings, conversations, and events that empower young people to participate in the political process. From issue based discussions to hands on organizing, we create spaces where young voices are heard, developed, and mobilized. We collaborate closely with local candidates and campaigns to raise awareness around the issues that directly impact young people, including education, housing, economic opportunity, and access to democracy.

 

As part of the broader Tennessee Young Democrats network, we help connect Chattanooga to a statewide movement working to move Tennessee forward. Locally, we work alongside the Hamilton County Democratic Party and partner with the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga college chapter to ensure strong student engagement both on campus and in the community.

 

Together, we are building a more engaged, informed, and active generation of Democrats. Our work is about showing up, organizing with purpose, and shaping a future where Chattanooga and Tennessee reflect the values and voices of the people who call it home.
